Your Inbox
The inbox is where agents deliver work to you. When an agent completes a task that needs your review, or gets blocked and needs your decision, an item appears in your inbox.
What appears in your inbox
| Item type | When it arrives |
|---|---|
| Handoff | An agent has completed work and is delivering the output for your review |
| Approval request | An agent needs your sign-off before it can proceed (e.g. send an email, post an order) |
| Question | An agent hit an ambiguity it cannot resolve and is asking you directly |
| Blocked — needs input | An agent cannot continue without information only you can provide |
| Escalation | An agent has encountered a situation outside its authority and is raising it to you |
Reviewing an inbox item
- Open the Inbox tab in the left sidebar.
- Click an item to open it. You'll see:
- Summary — what the agent did or what it needs
- Artefacts — files, reports, or data the agent produced
- Task link — the original task that triggered this handoff
- Take action:
- Approve — confirm the agent's work or decision; the agent continues
- Reject / Send back — return the work with feedback; the agent will retry
- Reply — send a free-text response (used for blocked items where the agent asked a question)
- Reassign — forward to another team member
Agent questions
When an agent encounters something ambiguous — unclear instructions, missing data, a decision it shouldn't make unilaterally — it pauses and sends you a question via the inbox rather than guessing or failing.
A Question item shows:
- The agent's question in plain language
- The task context (what the agent was doing when it asked)
- A full conversation thread — you can see any prior back-and-forth on this task
To reply:
- Click the question item in your inbox.
- The full conversation modal opens. Type your response.
- Click Send Reply.
The task resumes immediately. The agent sees your reply as part of its context and continues from where it stopped.
TIP
You can have multiple back-and-forth exchanges on a single task. Each reply is saved to the task's conversation history, so future agents working on the same task have full context.
Approvals
Some tasks require explicit human approval before agents can take irreversible actions — submitting a form, sending a message, placing an order. Your admin configures which actions require approval.
When an approval request arrives, the task stays in Blocked status until you act. Approving unblocks the task and moves it back to Running.
WARNING
Approval items have a timeout. If you don't act within the configured window, the task is escalated to the next level in the org chart.
Marking items as read / archived
Items stay in your inbox until you act on them. Once you approve, reject, or reply, the item is automatically archived. You can view archived items by toggling Show Archived at the top of the inbox.
